About the KPA

The Kenya Police Association

The Kenya Police Association was inaugurated on the first day of January 1964 and is an organisation which has a main structure with a Headquarters Branch based in the United Kingdom and with overseas branches, known as local branches, as may be organised from time to time.
The primary object of the Association is to maintain a spirit of comradeship and “esprit de corps” amongst former members of the Kenya Police Force and to enable them to keep in touch with one another in the United Kingdom and by the formation of branches overseas.
The conduct of the Association's affairs is in the hands of an executive committee which is, inter alia, the Headquarters Branch Committee and the day to day routine management of the Association is the responsibility of this committee.
Subject to the general provisions of the constitution and rules, local branches have the necessary autonomy for the regulation of their own affairs.
 Membership
Full membership is confined to former officers of the Kenya Police Force and the Kenya Police Reserve who attained an honourable discharge in the rank of Inspector of Police or above during their period of service. Wives of deceased members may be offered Associate membership by courtesy. Honorary Associate membership is also available to those persons with connections with the Kenya police in the past subject to the discretion of the committee.
